The detailed procedures for handling the students and for sending reports/information to the Head Office are as under:
Every Centre should appoint a person as counsellor who should be trained to patiently answer all querries from the students. The students should be advised about the nature of the course and its suitability to his/her needs. Usually, the enquiries are completed in the following steps:
1. First Enquiry: During this phase, the student is given course information brochure, NTEM profile, and the enquiry card free of cost. The enquiry card will be used later on for follow up in case the student does not enroll.
2. Registration: During this phase, the student is given NTEM prospectus by paying the proposed price.
3. Admission: When the student agrees to take admission, he shall have to submit the registration form which is inside the prospectus, along with the registration fee and also the first installment of tuition fee as per the prospectus.
4. Start of Course: It is associated with NTEM activities and courses and issue of I.Card to each student. Each student is given a kit bag and a set of first semester study material.
Following points should be taken note of regarding registration:
“Registration is valid for a period of proposed year only. In case of failure of a student to clear his course within the said time frame, he shall have to re-register paying the registration fee as per the prospectus once again”.
Registration At The NTEM Office Includes The Following Stages:
1. At the time of registration of a student(s), the Centre Associate has to send:
* Registration and examination information report.
* Registration form in Original with entry qualification certificates.
* Registration and exam fees of course marked on prospectus.
2. On receipt of items as mentioned in point (1) above, NTEM shall send the student’s registration number by post to the centre.
3. The study material is published and sold by NTEM separately as course kit.
NTEM gives permission to students to transfer from one Centre to the other. The student will have to pay the tuition fee to the next Centre after the transfer. The previous Centre Associate will have to transfer the candidate with fee record. The Transfer Certificate (the format is given at the last chapter) has to be filled by the centre from which the student is taking transfer. One copy remains with the centre, one given to the student and one copy should be sent to NTEM.
`In case a student wishes to drop out or a student remains continuously absent for 15 days without information, then he/she will be considered as dropout. Information in this regard should be sent to NTEM by way of Dropout Information Report failing which it must be considered that the student is regular and his fees will be charged from the Centre

Course Up gradation: In case a student wishes to upgrade his/her course in the middle of the proposed time frame, he/she has to take assistance of Center Associate of the centre in this regard.
A) Examination of NTEM January and July Batches:
* Examination will be conducted as per the dates notified by NTEM. Examination schedule will be sent to the centre es much prior to the initiation of exam.
* Examination form has to be filled in and submitted at NTEM before the cut off date.
* Question papers shall be sent by NTEM and one copy thereof will be sent to centre es, which can photocopy the questions as required.
* Answer sheets will also be provided to centre es provided exam forms are received in time.
* Exams should be conducted as per schedule and copies checked at the Centre itself. The checked copies should be sent to NTEM for verification.
* Result sheet should be filled in completely and submitted to NTEM along with answer copies within 15 days of last paper.
* On completing both the semesters, the Certificate/Mark Sheet would be issued preferably within 30 days of declaration of the result.
*Hard copy of the project has to be submitted along with the result sheet.
Soon after a student’s completion of course, the Centre will have to complete following formalities in order to issue the certificate.
* The Centre will have to send Certificate Requisition Form
* Completely filled up result sheet as per the syllabus of course
* Hard copy of the project.
* Balance fees if any, have to be deposited.
Receipt Book:
A receipt book has to be maintained at the centre , which will have to be printed. The Centre will maintain its own account and receipt books.
Checklist:
While submitting various reports to NTEM, the checklist is required to be submitted along with the reports.
Registration fees:
There are two types of registration fees required to be paid to NTEM for any course pursued by the student.
1). For General - Rs 200
2). For Others - Rs 150
